A Downer Day :(

Well, I weighed in this morning & sadly, I didn't lose any weight this past week :( Not even .1! But I haven't gained any weight back, either. So I guess I need to try to look at that in a positive light, even though it's hard. I've been pushing myself so hard at the gym this past week & to not lose anything.....it just seems like a complete downer! And I'll admit.....I cried as I read the scale :( But I'm okay now.....I think.

Now I just need to figure out what I'm doing wrong. Maybe I'm doing too much on the weights (as I do them almost everyday that I'm at the gym) & maybe I'm just building some muscle. Maybe I'm still eating too much. I know I ate way too much at my granddaugthter's birthday party & also when I took my son out for dinner on his birthday. So this week, I'm going to be more careful about what I eat & how much I eat! I know I can do this! I knew it wouldn't be easy, but I guess I didn't realize how hard it would be, either :(

Have a great weekend!
Benita

Stay positive! Just because you didn't loose any weight doesn't mean you aren't gaining muscle and strength. Keep working hard!

I agree with emily. Stay positive. Remember Muscle weighs more then fat and you have to build muscle to burn fat. Keep up the good work.

(((hugs))), Benita! I don't think you should stop with the weights...it's all good for you, right? My trainer has told me that at some point this will (not might) happen to me too. Keep on doing what you're doing!

Okay...don't be too hard on yourself! Only positive self-talk allowed! LOL
The trainer guy told my DH that when you start to work out, you may not lose weight initially or may plateau for awhile...muscle weighs more than "fat" so you can still be toning and not lose weight. And that's a good thing! That is what happened to him, and he is looking really good now! Just takes awhile. Hang in there! Janet

Hang in there! You're doing great! Some weeks are tough like this. I gained on my last weigh-in too so I feel your pain. Have you been taking measurements? Even if you don't post those - jot them down at home so you can see a difference there. :) And, of course, muscle weighs more than fat so that can factor into your weight. Definitely don't stop lifting - your body burns fat afterwards while resting and rebuilding those muscles. And lifting will help you tone up and look slimmer. :)
